What I have experienced could not have happened without God and the many hands and feet, born on wings of love, at work in this place. I have been blessed and humbled in each and every one of my ministries to meet God in the many faces that have made and continue to make this place a community of faith. So many God moments during my teaching experiences that could never have happened without His presence in the hearts and minds of those who shared their faith stories. God at work in others has led me to a prayer ministry that has opened my eyes to the practices of other faiths that so closely resemble Christian traditions. I realized God’s power at work even in the most unexpected places if you allow your heart’s door open to praying without ceasing.
A gentle tap on the shoulder didn’t always work for me as I normally have a very single-minded need for control over all things. But God always has other plans when I’m not looking. And I have received so many gifts as a result of St. Paul’s transformation of my life, but there is one that fills my heart always even in moments of doubt and it is simply: God is everywhere.
Reminders come from near and far, from those whom I see week after week, from those who have left myself and others a legacy of spiritual guidance, and to those who have passed on in their journey among us, as God’s many listening angels gently intercede. Examples of faith, gratitude, and selfless love are in evidence everywhere. Just open your eyes, mind and heart and you will be given more than any wealth of earthly riches could ever buy or imagine. The journey of a lifetime awaits….
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also (Matthew 6:21).
