Common Good Garden
More than 60 volunteers from St. Paul's and our community worked together to package over 10,000 meals in under 2 hours! The meal packing event is part of Rise Against Hunger's goal to end world hunger.
The Common Good Garden subcommittee finalized plans in October 2016 to move forward with engaging the community and held a meeting in December 2016 at which Bread for Life, LEAF, and interested St. Paul’s members formulated next steps in planning for a spring planting. The development of this community partnership is truly the work of the Holy Spirit and opens so many doors to furthering God’s mission of feeding the hungry in Southington.

Mass on the Grass
Sole Hope, an organization that St. Paul’s youth have supported in the past, was benefitted in 2016 with 50 pairs of shoes and a donation of $500 through a combined event with Adult Formation. The cut out shoe patterns provide protection against chiggers that cause widespread pain and disease among children in Africa and will be assembled and sewn by women who are also paid a living wage through the organization.
Since its formation, St. Paul’s Mission & Outreach group has assembled and delivered 64 bag lunches and attended the Saturday Eucharist Mass on Grass service presided over by several local clergy who also volunteer their time at Church By the Pond in Bushnell Park. It is the hope that this service will become a once per month parish-wide mission effort as the number of people being served continues to develop.
